The voice of the enemy: accusations 24/7
I like to read about great military leaders and the various battles they experienced. You can learn a lot about valor, strategies, successful campaigns, and even great defeats. One thing that stands out in all my reading is that all good military leaders learn everything they can about the opposition before going to war. Good Generals do their homework. They come to know the voice of the enemy, and create a battle plan accordingly.
In Revelation 12:10-12, we, the followers of Christ, are given a strategy to defeat the enemy, that "ancient serpent called the devil (false accuser, slanderer), or Satan, who leads the whole world astray." The greatest weapon this enemy has is accusations. He "accuses" us "before God day and night."
The problem is that the devil is usually right, we are guilty as charged! Solomon once said "There is not a righteous man on earth who does what is right and never sins." I would say that makes us easy targets for a habitual accuser. We need to be ready to rumble when the accusing bullets fly our way. It's not if they will come but when they do.
Neil Anderson and Don Finto, are two men that know spiritual warfare. Neil Anderson said don't argue with the devil, just agree and move on. Don Finto said when faced with the enemies accusation, repent quickly, and walk in the grace of God.
Both men said the voice of the enemy always accuses and condemns, the voice of the Holy Spirit convicts, heals, and brings hope. (Paraphrased). The bad news is we have sin in our lives, the good news is that the blood of Jesus cleanses us from our sin. So know the voice of the enemy and the voice of God before the battle comes.
Jesus, in the Revelation 12:10-12, gives us the ultimate strategy to win this war with the Accuser. What is the winning strategy?
"They overcame him (devil) by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death." So suit up, show up, and get ready to rumble!
